Pre War

Born Datchworth 1890, son of Henry & Sarah Waller George was born in Datchworth in 1890 son of Henry and Sarah Waller but at some time they moved away. In 1901 he was living in Edmonton, and his father was a brick worker. Possibly his mother was a Tyler and related to other Tylers in Datchworth (QV,) and perhaps this accounts for his middle name. Sometime after this he joined the army, possibly 1906/7 from his service number) and in 1911 he is found as in India with the Ox and Bucks.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Stratford Essex, served in Mesopotamia where he arrived in 5th December 1914. He was a regular soldier, and died of disease rather than in action, which was very common in Mesopotamia.
