Pre War

Born in 1892 in Brickendon, Hertfordshire son of George and Elizabeth Walker and living in 83, Somerset Terrace, West Street,


Hertford in 1901 and 1911. He was a general labourer and was unmarried.

Wartime Service

He had served four years in the Hertfordshire Territorials and re-enlisted at Hertford on 1 Sep 1914 for the duration of the war.

He entered France on 5 Nov 1914 He suffered a gunshot wound to the left arm on 19 Nov 1914 at Ypres, was admitted to No 4 Field Ambulance and transferred to base.

He was repatriated but died in Lincoln Hospital a week later despite surgery.
