James Patrick Ford was born in August 1894 in Paddington, New South Wales, the son of Paul and Bridget Ford.
He worked as a railway clerk and lived at 90 Cameron Street, Paddington, New South Wales. He gave his next of kin as P Ford of the same address.
Wartime Service
He enlisted on 24 August 1914 as a Corporal in the Field Artillery Brigade 1, Brigade Ammunition Column. His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board Transport A8 Argyllshire on
He was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant on 17 May 1916 with the Artillery Division 1. He was mentioned in Despatches in June 1917 but was killed in action on 2 August 1917.
