Born in 1877 in Hertford and baptised on 17 Jun 1877 in Hertford son of George and Elizabeth Ann Evans and lived at 21 Hartham Lane, Hertford. He was a general labourer and was unmarried.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Bedford on 29 Mar 1916 as Private 31142 Royal Fusiliers. He embarked at Southampton on 7 May 1916 and arrived in Le Havre the next day. He then transferred to (60130) 101st Company, Labour Corps. on 14 May 1917. He suffered gas in the front line on 13 May 1918 and died the next day of pneumonia.
