Pre War
Thomas George was born on 14 Feb 1882 South Mimms, Potters Bar (baptised 27 Feb 1882, St John, Potters Bari) to William Henry Trigg, a carpenter, and Eliza (nee King).
On the 1891 Census the family of parents, Sarah Ann (born 1875), Thomas George, and Herbert William (born 1887) were living at, Upton Cottages, Cooper’s Road, Little Heath, Potters Bar.
Thomas enlisted in the Royal Artillery on 3 Jul 1900 as a Driver, but transferred to Army Service Corps on 5 Jul 1900 as Private (Driver) T/ 16199 for a term of 3 years and 9 years on Reserve.
His father died in 1901. On the 1901 Census Thomas was resident in Army Service Corps at Colewort Barrack Portsmouth. His mother and Herbert were living at Raincliff Road, New Barnet.
On 20 Jun Thomas extended his service period to 8 years, and to 12 years on 7 Mar 1908.
Thomas married Kathleen Gooch on 27 Jun 1907 in Portsmouth. He was transferred to Army Reserve on 3 May 1910.
On the 1911 Census Thomas & Kathleen were living at 10 Blenheim Street, Southsea, Portsmouth. Thomas was re-engaged from Reserve for 4 years on 24 Feb 1912 and transferred to D Section on 1 Jul 1912.
Wartime Service
Thomas was mobilised on 6 Aug 1914 and he went France on 10 Sep 1914. His service record does not state his Unit.
He was repatriated to UK on 10 Sep 1916 from 8 General Hospital, Rouen and was discharged as no longer fit for war service on 26 Nov 1916. Thomas was admitted to Wandsworth Hospital on but died on22 Aug 1917.
