Born on 8 Sep 1894 and baptised on 11 Dec 1894 in Heversham, Westmoreland son of Brig. Gen. Joseph Oates Travers C.M.G., D S.O. (Devonshire Regt.) and Alice Lucy (Dixon)Travers. Educated at the United Services College 1904-05.

Wartime Service

Commissioned in 1914 2nd Lieutenant Lancashire Fusiliers and promoted Captain. Killed in action at Gallipoli.

Additional Information

United Services College, Westward Ho, Devon amalgamated with Imperial Service College in Windsor in 1912 and then moved to Haileybury College, Hertford Heath in 1942.
