Born on 6 Jul 1877 and baptised on 2 Sep 1877 in Tollington Park, London son of Nathaniel Wilmot Oliver and Maria Townshend of Derry, Rosscarberry, Cork, Ireland. Educated at King's College, London. Scholar of Worcester College, Oxford. Mathematical Master at Rossall School, Fleetwood, Lancashire. Member of Staff at the United Services College 1899-1905.

Wartime Service

Killed in action at Suvla Bay, Gallipoli.

Haileybury Register had Dudley Ryder Townsend. United Services College, Westward Ho, Devon amalgamated with Imperial Service College in Windsor in 1912 and then moved to Haileybury College, Hertford Heath in 1942.
