Charles was born in West Ham, London. He worked as a Pump Driver on the railway and lived at 15 Westland Road, Knebworth.
Wartime Service
He joined the Army on the 5th January 1917, just four weeks before his 18th birthday and remained in the UK. He and did not serve overseas and died at Fort Pitt, Chatham, as a result of Broncho Pneumonia.
