Pre War
Son of Lydia Mary Elizabeth (nee FOULSHAM) of Watford, and the late Harry/Henry Adolphus T TISDALL.
His parents married 8 June 1898 at St Mark’s, Notting Hill, London. Harry died 1908 in the Kensington, London, district aged 32. Lydia remarried 1917 in the Watford district to Joseph S BUTLER; she died 1955 in Watford aged 81, and was buried 21 June in Vicarage Road Cemetery.
Harry was born 1898 in Notting Hill; he died in Watford, and was buried 22 April.
On the 1901 Census, aged 2 he lived in Kensington, with his parents and no siblings. On the 1911 Census, at school aged 12, he was a pupil in Ewell, Surrey.
Wartime Service
He was a joiner’s improver, 5’5½” tall, next-of-kin his mother. He was originally a Private in the Labour Corps, and went with them to France 14 May 1917 until 1 December 1917; the next day he transferred to the Royal Flying Corps.
He was admitted to the Lord Darby War Hospital, Warrington, Lancs, 29 June 1918, and discharged 28 September 1918.
He was entitled to the Victory and British War medals, and the Silver War Badge.
